Laingsburg is situated in the Western Cape Province of South Africa. This friendly Karoo town is situated at the gateway to the Great Karoo with its proud tradition of old-fashioned warmth.
Laingsburg, established in 1881, was almost entirely destroyed when the Buffels River flooded in 1981. Since then the town has been rebuilt and the farming of live stock continues to be the towns main source of income.
Summers are extremely hot and dry, with temperatures usually exceeding 30°C. Winters are crisp to sometimes very cold, with snow occasionally occurring in the surrounding region.

Activities in Laingsburg
An Anglo-Boer War blockhouse, the Wolfaardt collection and historical buildings dating back to the 1800's and early 1900's give a fascinating account of Laingsburg’s more recent history.
Nature enthusiasts will love Laingsburg with the many outdoor activities available including hiking, mountain biking and bird watching.
One of the biggest annual events held in Laingsburg is the Karoo Ultra Marathon, which consist of a 10, 21 and 80 km run.
In October Laingsburg invites visitors to come and enjoy all the fun of the fair at the Karoofees (Karoo Festival), which includes a range of fun things to do including marathons, competitions for youngsters, glorious local food and music.
